The Police Station...

After a great morning with daddy, we packed our bags for the police station. The bus ride was only a short twenty minutes. One of the kids in our group (Justin) has been diagnosed with Nemonia (spelling?). But since the time of this post has really recoved well. Everyone is still battling illnesses of various types, but overall, ok. Back to the story. At the police station, we went to the second floor and waited patiently for an entry/exit officer to meet us. I tried to take some photos, but was told firmly not to. (lucky to be alive really- not as close of a call as when Bob Okamoto tried to take pics at the UN building in New York Eric) Well we were called up after ten minutes for a brief interview with the officer in which Hailey waved the whole time to her (i have been working on this with all strangers- probably not the best thing). She took a photo and we showed her our adoption documents, and in five minutes were done. Short and sweet. Now just to wait for the Visa to be processed so that we can fly back to Bejing. Speaking of which, our date to fly to Bejing has been pushed back now to Friday from Thursday but does not affect our final travel date arriving in Toronto on the 15th as planned.

Love Alex, Jason and Hailey.

Very relieved to hear that your visit went smoothly - I was mildly stressed about that! Hope you guys take good care of yourselves and each other and are feeling better soon. Thanks for the zillions of posts today - I was very sad to not read anything new yesterday!

Big hugs to you all!

I'm impressed and surprised that the process went so quickly...bureaucracy doesn't always move quickly Asia! Glad it's all done!

pneumonia...good try, though. I bet they don't put silent Ps on the front end of words in Chinese...and we think their language is complicated. Glad to hear that everything went well and that little Hailey is not wanted by the authorities for anything.
