A good Monday morning!

After an exhausting day of not wanting to be put down at all- we literally spent all day on our feet, we had a great nights sleep and a yummy breakfast. Ma Ma did not feel all that good today (cold coming on), but i feel well rested. We were up at 5am and things have gone well. Hailey went back to sleep on my chest for another hour and then we went to breakfast and our bottle. We have gone completely back to the Congee and her poops have been regular since. The medicine is making a difference today. Ma Ma went up to the room and back to bed after breakfast and that gave the little monkey some one on one time with Ba Ba. Just what she needed to wrap me around her finger. First we went to the roof to watch the pink glow of the morning sun on the buildings- a great view from here - but smoggy. Then down to a 4th floor garden and play area. She really has been diggin her stroller- and that has been saving our backs today. She loved the garden and play area- basically some foam mats with a swing, slide, rockers, etc. We had tried to get her crawling yesterday, but with limited luck. Today, she was crawling non-stop and pulling herself up onto the little plastic stools. I lined up four of them and she walked along them for balance. We even tried the slide a few times. She didnt want to leave, but another poopy diaper called. Up to the room to wake up Ma Ma. (just kidding, i did it Erin)
A bunch of the group have been having various health problems with their babies, so a hospital visit was organized this morning and i have been using Kirk and Debs computer and room to write and post all of these pics. Thank god for them!
What a close call over dinner last night as a server brought coffee and passed within Olivia's reach. She pulled the hot coffee down all over herself. Kirk saw it happening and had a great reaction time, pulling the shirt off right away. I think Olivia was ok. What a close call.
It is tough here in a lot of ways. Everyone is homesick and wants to get back to a normal existance in their homes. These kids are a lot of work, between the health issues, adoption issues, their mindsets, etc. Then pile on that you cant even get a normal meal or do something as simple as laundry. A trip to the doctor has to involve a guide. You dont have access to music to calm the baby.
We are off to the Police Station today (we are having her criminal record cleared up). Just kidding. We are getting a passport for Hailey.
Will post later. Love Alex, Jason & Man Man.

Oh I'm so sorry to hear Alex isn't feeling well. What an awful to time to catch a cold. Love your new pictures, and stories. So grateful for Kirk & Deb. I love how your adventure has brought the family together in a whole new way, I not only excitedly ready your posts, but also look forward to read the comments from other family members. Wow, just love all the pics today. Hailey looks like she is adapting well and has both of you totally enraptured and wrapped around her little fingers. What a little doll! Sorry to hear that Ma Ma is not feeling well but likely in need of some extra TLC - she has been giving hers away so freely that she needs to replenish the bank! Spoil your girls today Jason, they deserve it! (you do too but your day will come!). Keep the updates coming, much love,

Parenthood really agrees with the two of you. Hailey looks so happy and content. Every day we look forward to checking in on your adventure. The grass doesn't grow under your feet, that is for sure. You must be having the trip of a lifetime. I am sure you are anxious to get home though. Enjoy the poopy diapers now...the novelty wears off really quickly!

All the best, love,

Jennifer, Ken, Colin & Liam

Great pictures guys. We haven't even had a chance to check out the roof or the play area - looks like fun. Perhaps we'll have to do that today. See you soon.

We just went online Sunday for the first time.....what an exciting time you are having!! Tears of joy filled my eyes as we read about your first days with my little niece Hailey. Tell her Auntie Elaine loves her very much and is anxiously awaiting her arrival in Canada. She is so beautiful....I love her sweet mouth and chubby baby cheeks. It looks like her skin has cleared up really well with the cream you got for her. We are glad to hear all is going well and excited to discover you have access to a computer to send us pictures and update us on your activities. Enjoy your time there and keep safe.
Lots of love,
your sis Elaine, & Angelo, & baby Andrew

Good Morning or Evening where you are. After reading your blog yesterday I was a bit sad that you are one the other side of the world in a strange country with your beautiful little one and sounding like you are homesick. You are so used to being independent, in your own space, and on "your own time" that the limitations are taxing you and understandably so. There is beauty and wonder all around you, find and explore it!

Glad to see that Hailey looks like she is feeling much better and her skin isn't so red and sore looking. I hope MaMa is feeling much better today too.

When you get home, you will look back and say where did the time fly to? Life is a bit of a puzzle sometimes isn't it?

Looking forward to "news of the day" today. Much love and big hugs - 9 more days to go!

Well Hello!
I can't tell you how much we all appreciate you sharing your incredibly journey with us! Alex you are actually glowing. Hailey is breathtaking. I could go on and on but I will wait until you get back to gush.
2 Tidbits of info:
1.Everything went fine at the bank last week.
2. Eric asks that you bring a snow globe back from China. There is a trend starting.

Enjoy the rest of your time in China and keep the pictures coming!

All of my best wishes to the three of you,

Lee

So, I was in meetings all day today, but surreptitiously checking your blog on my laptop, and looking at the pictures of your beautiful girl. I see a real progression from the early pics - she is looking self-assured now, reaching out, curious. She looks like she has acquired a kind of confidence that comes from feeling safe, secure and loved. She is truly a doll and I can't wait to meet her.
