On the way to the Great Wall we stopped at the Jade Market. This one is closely supervised by the Tourism Board so it was kinda trustworthy and expensive. After a lesson in Jade- where we learned that Jade increases in value the longer you wear it, and the colour changes too- we went shopping! Alex managed to pick up a circular pendant to wear as a necklace (this symbolizes "family") and one of those jade balls. It is actually three balls, one inside of each other, with holes to see and feel through.
One of the Children's Bridge ladies we met a long time ago, talked to us about how her daughter asks to hold them when she is thinking about her birth parents or her beginnings. It will probably be another gotcha gift. Alex, of course, worked out another great price deal. She has turned into a real bargainer now!
Love Alex the Bargainer, Jason the stroller pusher, and Mantou the "Small Steamed Bread".
